WHY TEACH AQUA FITNESS?

Aqua Fitness Instructors play a vital role in enhancing the physical, mental, and social well-being of their participants, making their work essential to promoting a healthier and more active society.

There is a shortage of Aqua Fitness Instructors and this market is growing as more people learn about the benefits of working out in the water.

ABOUT CLAIRE

Hi, I'm Claire Barker-Hemings, originally from London but now living in Melbourne, Australia.

I had a passion for dance and movement from a very young age and it’s always been a big part of my life. It was a natural step to teach dance to others, from baby ballerinas to adults for fun. Having to stay fit and injury free for dance led me into the field of group fitness which in turn ignited a passion for Aqua Fitness and Pilates.

In 2008 I was appointed as a training specialist for international organisation AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association) training aquatic fitness professionals from around the world. AEA has certified over 45,000 professionals worldwide and maintains a strong membership base with representation in over 50 countries.

Wanting to develop my own training program tailored to the Australian culture and people, I joined forces with registered training organisation, Active Training, in South Australia and Aqua Fitness Online.  We continue to work on delivering and improving aquatic training for fitness professionals here in Australia. Our mission is to deliver a complete online package to busy fitness professionals to raise the bar in the industry and make training more accessible to people all over this beautiful country.

I teach regular classes in centres here in Melbourne and am a Health Coach. I love educating others but my main passion remains getting people moving and keeping them moving.
